Traveling

 
When taking your horse in a trailor or lorry to a show, it is advisable to draw up a list of the equipment you are going to need to take with you. This will include;

3 Gallon water carrier, filled
Bucket and hay-net for the journey
Suitable grooming kit inc. hoof pick
Horse first aid kit
Human first aid kit
Spare rope
Shovel and Skep
Tack (Cleaned)
Show clothes

 

 

A list for the Clothing your horse is going to need;

Head Collar ( leather is best as it breaks under strain)
Clip-on lead Rope
Poll Guard ( Optional depending on size of your horse and how he travels)
Sweat Rug and normal Day Rug
Bandages and Gamgee or travel boots that cover the knee and hock
Knee and Hock boots (If needed)
Tail Bandage
Tail Guard for long journeys
Sursingle or roller
In very cold weather a hood for clipped horses.
Spare rugs.
